Keiko Abe is one of the most famous marimba players and uses the traditional 4 hand grip. She composes many pieces for marimba that is widely used by many performers from high school to professional. Pay attention to her rhythmic intensity, dynamic expression, and 4 mallet technique.

Ney Rosauro is a world famous composer and performer on mallet instruments. Many percussionists perform his works all over the world. Notice the grip that he uses, his delicate touch in softer passages, and his technique on both marimba and vibes.

Dave Weckl is one of the best drum set players in the U.S. He plays in all different sorts of styles: swing, funk, fusion, rock, pop, be-bop, and many more. He not only does a fantastic job establishing tempo, but he does a fantastic job with fills and backing up (comping) soloists.

Dave Weckl is a fantastic drum set player in the U.S. He plays in all different sorts of styles, but has a well established reputation for standard jazz charts in swing, shuffle, bossa nova, samba, etc. He incorporates a lot of interesting melodic material and rhythmic variety into his playing/solos.
